In 2016, Chidinma Okeke, the winner of the Miss Anambra beauty pageant became embroiled in a sex scandal. This follows the emergence of a video that showed her engaging in lesbian acts with another woman.

She lost her crown and faced backlash after from the public for the act.



2. MC Galaxy's Instagram Live Sex Show

In 2019, Nigerian musician MC Galaxy caused controversy when he invited a woman onto his Instagram Live show and asked her to strip naked and perform sexual acts.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many people calling for him to be held accountable for his actions.



3. Tega Dominic's Big Brother Naija Sex Tape

In 2021, Tega Dominic, a contestant on the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija, caused controversy when a video surfaced online showing her engaging in sexual acts with a fellow contestant, Boma.

Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal also came under heavy criticism recently after a sex tape of hers was leaked. Speaking on the issue, the actress revealed that the act was between her and her fiancé.

She added that the video was not made for ‘public consumption’ hence its unauthorized distribution is a breach of her personal boundaries.



6. Oxlade's Sex Tape Saga

In 2022, Nigerians and the rest of the world on social media woke up to the news of singer Oxlade's leaked sex tape and numerous nude photos. Like that of fellow celebrities Tiwa Savage and ex-BBNaija housemate, Cross, Oxlade’s sex tape was accidentally leaked on Snapchat.

Oxlade following the incident, tendered his apology on his official Twitter and Instagram handles. He explained that he was betrayed by a trusted friend and that willfully sharing his sex tape is not in his character.



7. Mhiz Gold Sex Tape

Additionally, Nigerian influencer and Tiktoker Mhiz Gold recently caused a stir after a sex clip of her and an unidentified man surfaced in the public domain.

Many social media users criticized the influencer after the tape emerged and stated that she was aware of the camera being in the room.
