'This too shall pass’ – AY speaks as wife confirms split

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayodeji Richard Makun, often known as AY, has spoken out following the confirmation by his estranged wife Mabel that their 16-year marriage was over.

In a recent Instagram post, Mabel expressed her commitment to "moving forward with grace and resilience," stating that her goal of a lifetime marriage had taken a "different direction."

She requested "privacy and consideration as we (my ex-husband and I) find our own path forward," acknowledging that divorce is a difficult time.

Responding, AY expressed hope that the difficult moment they had encountered would pass soon.

Taking to his Instagram page he wrote: “This too shall pass.”

AY earlier lamented that his 20-year friendship and marriage were getting away from him.
