'They are owing rent for 3 years' - Isaac Fayose cries out as Abuja tenants drag him to court

Businessman Isaac Fayose has sparked discussions online after revealing that some of his tenants in Abuja took him to a Magistrate Court in Wuse, Zone 6, accusing him of threatening their lives.

In a viral video, Fayose, who has previously spoken about his unsuccessful business ventures, shared his frustrations over a prolonged dispute with his tenants, claiming they have not paid rent for more than three years.

He stated that 25 tenants occupying 24 apartments and a restaurant in his estate owe him a total of ₦287 million in unpaid rent. Instead of settling their arrears, Fayose said, these tenants filed a case against him, accusing him of issuing threats.

The businessman added that he has spent ₦48 million on legal fees across five different courts since the matter began.

Fayose also criticized the Nigerian judicial system, arguing that the repeated court adjournments allowed his tenants to evade their rental obligations.

Can you stay abroad in someone’s house for over three years without paying rent and still drag the owner to court? This is what we go through in this country,” Fayose lamented.

“The injustice in our land is so much that poverty is inevitable. I’m in court today again… Tenants trying to jail landlord after staying in my house for 3 years without paying. The tenants are owing 287 million naira as at today I have spent over 47 million on legal fees .. How can a country run on wickedness???” he added in the caption.
