The late Nollywood actress and film producer Temitope "Tope" Osoba has been laid to rest on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, following her passing in early August at the age of 40.

Family members, colleagues, friends, and sympathizers gathered dressed in white to pay their final respects to the beloved Yoruba film star.

Her final rites commenced as her body left the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH) mortuary in Sagamu at 9:00 AM.

A burial service was subsequently conducted at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, before her remains were interred at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.

Videos from the solemn event surfaced online, capturing emotional moments as the funeral procession made its way to the cemetery and mourners bade the late actress a final farewell.

Tope Osoba was a respected veteran in Yoruba-language cinema, featuring in prominent productions such as Oogun Mi, Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan, and Gucci Girls.

She had previously undergone treatment and surgery for breast cancer, publicly celebrating her recovery and return to acting in 2025 as an advocate for cancer awareness.

Following her death on August 5, 2026, conflicting accounts emerged regarding the circumstances leading to her demise. While early public reports linked her death to her prior health battles, her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, publicly claimed she died at a police station in Lagos.

The uncertainty prompted calls from figures like actor Yomi Fabiyi for formal investigations and autopsies.

The burial service was originally scheduled by the family for August 13, 2026. However, the rites were postponed to early September to complete necessary family arrangements following a candlelight tribute held in her honor in Ikeja, Lagos.
