Speed Darlington slams VDM fans urging him to join the protest

Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington, has lashed out at fans urging him to support the ongoing protests demanding the release of social media activist, VeryDarkMan.

It will be recalled that VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, was reportedly arrested by the EFCC last Friday, prompting a wave of demonstrations by Nigerian youths calling for his freedom.

During a recent live session on social media, Speed Darlington was confronted by some viewers who encouraged him to participate in the “Free VDM” campaign.

However, the singer reacted angrily, questioning the hypocrisy of those calling on him now when no one protested on his behalf during his own legal troubles.

“Did any of you protest when I was locked up? God punish you! You come to my page to insult me. Your mates are out there grinding, doing something with their lives,” he said during the live broadcast.

His outburst sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his stance, while others criticized him for not showing solidarity.
