Solar sef dey off' Comedian Cute Abiola tackles Tinubu administration over worsening blackout

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Abdulgafar Ahmad, professionally known as The Cute Abiola, has called out President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the worsening electricity situation and economic hardship in the country.

In a video shared on his social media pages, the content creator expressed deep frustration over the nationwide power supply disruptions, revealing that even his backup solar energy system had failed due to weather conditions and extended strain.

Addressing the President directly, Cute Abiola lamented the severe heat and economic pressure facing ordinary citizens.

"President Tinubu, my solar is off. Please, for God’s sake, help us. My solar is off right now. Please, everywhere is hot. The suffering is too much. Please, there’s no light. Abeg," he pleaded.

The comedian criticized the political class, accusing the administration of prioritizing early campaign strategies and re-election plans for the 2027 general elections over addressing the immediate struggles of Nigerians.

He concluded his outcry with a sarcastic jab at the popular narrative promoting alternative energy as a permanent escape from grid collapse. "Buy solar, buy solar. Solar sef dey off," he added.

Cute Abiola's outburst comes amid ongoing power disruptions across major states, adding to a rising chorus of public complaints from public figures and citizens over grid instability and high living costs.
