Former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has described President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as too old to lead Nigeria, calling on them to retire and allow younger politicians to take over the country's leadership.
Oyinlola made the remarks during an interview with Channels Television while discussing the country's political future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Asked whether he considered Tinubu and Atiku fit to become president, the former governor cited their ages and argued that Nigeria needed younger leaders to manage its affairs.
“They're too old. They should retire and allow younger elements to run the affairs of Nigeria,” he said.
Oyinlola added that Nigerians were looking for a president who could shoulder the responsibility of leadership and meet their expectations in terms of good governance.
He expressed confidence that voters would increasingly turn their attention to younger candidates in search of the leadership the country needs.
