'So women can't contest in politics again' - Reactions as PDP Nathasha-Akpoti survives car crash

The People's Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the just concluded February 25 Natasha Akpoti-Vaughan, was involved in a car accident on Friday, April 14, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

She was on her way to her rural home in Okehi to get ready for the Kogi state governorship primary held on Sunday, April 16, when the accident happened.

Her personal assistant, Lamidi Hamza, who confirmed the accident, said that her sports utility vehicle struck a roadside curb, injuring some of the occupants of the vehicle as well as the driver.

She was reportedly rushed for treatment to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.

Natasha, who is now nursing some bruises on her body, posted a photo of her stitched-up face on social media and promised to be out and about soon.

She thanked the FMC Lokoja team for quickly stabilizing her and setting for her transfer to another facility in Abuja.

The PDP Kogi Senatorial candidate added that her driver was spared harm thanks to the airbag.
