Portable reveals why he rejected invite to perform at Tinubu's pre-inauguration concert

Controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile popularly known as Portable has taken to social media to disclose why he didn't perform at president-elect Bola Tinubu's pre-inauguration concert which was held on Thursday, May 25.

Recall that the pre-inauguration concert saw some of Nigeria's heavyweight singers thrilling fans with stellar and electrifying performances at the Renewed Hope Concert at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

It was gathered that over 40 artistes including Asake, Waje, Buju, Brymo, Naira Marley, Fireboy, Kaycee, among a host of others were in attendance.

Portable after the event, has explained to his fans and Nigerians who anticipated his presence at the concert why he was absent as he is one of the individuals who campaigned for the president-elect during the presidential and national assembly elections which was held on February 25, 2023.

Portable revealed that he turned down the invitation to perform because other artistes received N10 million, while he was offered only N5 million.

Tinubu's victory, according to Portable, was made possible because he was one of the people who rallied behind him and he even composed a campaign song for the All Progressives Congress, hence he deserved more than the amount offered him.

In his opinion, all of the singers who were billed for the concert, had the guts to perform despite having supported Peter Obi of the Labour Party during the elections.

Many social media users stated that Portable was not invited to perform at the concert and that he was just ranting as questions are being asked as to why he campaigned for the APC yet he wasn't invited.

Others added that even if he was invited, N5 million was okay and he shouldn't have rejected the offer.
