Nollywood actor and filmmaker Laide Olabanji has issued a strong warning to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, cautioning him against underestimating the resolve of the state’s electorate following recent political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in a video message posted on social media, the actor reacted sharply to Governor Adeleke's appointment as the Osun State coordinator for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign council despite going against the party in the August 2026 Osun elections.
Olabanji expressed disappointment over the development, asserting that the people of Osun stood by Adeleke during his political battles and warned that aligning with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could trigger electoral backlash.
"Gov Adeleke, Osun people will shock you. They stood by you during difficult times and this is how you repay them? Osun people rejected APC during the last election, they will reject them this time too and they will vote Peter Obi again. Osun people are not for sale," Olabanji stated.
The actor insisted that voters in the state remain committed to their independent political choices, warning that political leaders cannot simply transfer electorate loyalty across party lines.
