Arise TV has reacted to allegations that it is involved in the scheme by suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, to defame Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The clarification comes after Duru, popularly known as Prof. Mgbeke, in a Facebook live broadcast that lasted one hour and eight minutes, accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of offering her N200m to fabricate allegations against Akpabio.
She said in the video that has since gone viral that Arise TV was earmarked as one of the local media platforms to spread the falsehood against the Senate President.
She also accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of recruiting prominent Nigerians and human rights groups to malign the Senate President.
Duru alleged that the suspended lawmaker contacted her after her sexual harassment petition against Akpabio failed to gain traction.
Reacting to the claims, Ojy Okpe, the host of the What's Trending segment on the Morning Show, indicated that the channel doesn't respond to such wild allegations.
"I would like to let you know that we do not respond to such wild and unsubstantiated allegations. We are a public trust and a platform for all in the pursuit of truth and justice," she said.
