Not Davido, Samklef says Olamide, Wizkid are the 'two street kids that started the game'

Popular music producer and singer, Samuel Oguachuba who is popularly known as Samklef has waded into the debate on the originators of afrobeats.

Samklef who in a tweet noted that he and Wizkid are the “original creators of the new afrobeat sound” noted that Wizkid and Olamide were the "two street" kids who started the game.

Sharing a picture of Wizkid and Olamide, Samklef wrote, “The two street kids that started the game. Others joined them. Samklef dey talk am as e be.”

His tweet is in reaction to Davido's comment that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to hit stardom.

Speaking about his influence in the genre, he said he and Wizkid were also part of the originators.

He said anyone who doubts his claim should consult Google.
