'Na record break her' - Reactions as lady collapses in an attempt to set record for longest massage

A Nigerian lady identified as Joyc Ijeoma has stirred conversations on social media after she passed out during an attempt to set a new Guinness World record for the longest body massage.

On Saturday, July 1, the masseuse posted on Instagram that she will attempt to massage people for 72 hours in Lekki, Lagos.

Ijeoma made an appeal to Nigerians for encouragement and invited them to attend the actual establishing of her massage record.

Ijeoma's ultimate goal was to break the record that had been set by Alastair Galpin, an ambitious man from South Kalimantan, Indonesia.

With a marathon massage that lasted an amazing 25 hours and 4 minutes in 2015, the current record holder significantly lifted the bar.

Unfortunately, the ambitious project had a negative impact on Ijeoma's health, as she passed out during the massage-a-thon despite having endured an amazing 53 hours of nonstop massaging.

Although she didn't complete the massage-a-thon as she had hoped, her effort has ignited a global dialogue about perseverance, the human spirit, and the always developing field of massage therapy.

At least, let medics be on ground in case of emergency PS: When someone collapse and you want to help them please don’t try to pull them up to stand. Let them lie on the ground facing up, and free the space to allow ventilation. We really need to include First Aid as a subject in Nigerian secondary schools"
