Nigerian actor and director Charles Inojie has expressed sorrow over the death of his colleague and friend John Okafor, who was widely known as Mr. Ibu.

The actor stated that the Nigerian movie industry has suffered an "irreparable loss" with the passing of the veteran actor.

Charles Inojie added that Mr. Ibu was an outstanding actor and his absence would be felt in the industry.

He said that Mr. Ibu was a unique actor who could communicate a million messages with only his facial expressions, gestures, and body language without speaking a word.

During an interview with Channels TV, Charles Inojie said: “Sometimes you lose a person in an industry and you say, well, so or so person would replace him. But Mr. Ibu is irreplaceable. Mr. Ibu spears with every part of his body.

“He is probably one of the few people in Africa who would sit without saying anything, and communicate a million messages with his facial expressions, body language, and gestures without verbalizing just one dramatic dialogue. That doesn’t come cheap. We are going to miss that.

“You have John [Okafor], you have a blockbuster.”
