Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, the widow of late Afrobeats star Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has initiated formal legal action to prevent any unauthorized claims or control over the singer’s estate.
The move, confirmed by a letter dated November 19, 2025, from her law firm, was filed at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja. Aloba is urging the Probate Registry to reject any application for Letters of Administration that is not submitted by the lawful beneficiaries.
The widow confirmed she has filed Form 5 and Form 6, which legally bar the issuance of Letters of Administration to any party other than those recognized by law.
Her legal team stressed that the notice is binding until the estate is duly and lawfully administered, particularly “Given that the deceased’s lawful wife and son are still alive.”
Omowunmi is formally recognized in the court filing as the legal wife of the deceased and the mother of his only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.
She emphasized that public warnings against any “Surreptitious or fraudulent attempts to claim the estate without proper legal process” have also been placed in national newspapers.
This legal action comes amid intense public interest and ongoing family disputes surrounding the late singer’s assets following his controversial death.
