Man arrested over false identity, dragged over business scam by clients

A self-certified Nigerian shoemaker, Oluwatimilehin Godwin Oyedele, popularly known as Timi, has sparked widespread conversation online following reports of his arrest over allegations of false identity and business fraud.

The physically challenged craftsman, known for making handmade footwear, was reportedly apprehended after confessing to the crime.

According to reports, Timi disguised himself as a woman, using pictures and private images sourced from Google to lure men into sending him money.

He allegedly carried out the scheme across multiple social media platforms, including WhatsApp, TikTok, and Instagram, where he used the stolen images as his profile photos.

His activities came to light after the real woman whose photos were being used publicly called him out on Instagram.

Following this, Timi was tracked and arrested, admitting to catfishing men with fake nudes downloaded from Google.

The scandal gained further traction on X, where past clients began sharing unpleasant experiences with his shoemaking business.

One user claimed that Timi once delivered a pair of undersized shoes that were completely different from what he had ordered.
