Brand influencer King Mitchy has opened up about the real story behind her viral apology video, revealing that comedian and entertainer Nasboi played a major role in convincing her to make the public statement.

Her clarification comes after widespread reactions to the video in which she apologised to social media critic VeryDarkMan, her boss Seyi Tinubu, and the Ooni of Ife following their heated online feud.

The apology had sparked fresh controversy after VeryDarkMan questioned its sincerity and suggested it might have been politically motivated. He also warned that Nigerians should hold King Mitchy and Seyi Tinubu responsible if anything happened to him.

Responding to the backlash, King Mitchy explained that the decision to apologise publicly was not entirely hers. According to her, Nasboi advised her to address the issue and helped produce the video.

“I never felt the need to come out. He told me what to say, shot the video, and posted it, giving me reasons for it, which I saw some sense in,” she said.

She added that Nasboi also handled the caption and posting of the video, noting that his intention was simply to restore peace and help those involved move on from the controversy.

“It was never a decoy or anything political,” she stressed.
