Iyanya, Pere console Mercy Eke after she cried out about friends not supporting her

Nigerian singer Iyanya and BBNaija All Stars housemate Pere Egbi have offered Mercy Eke encouragement in the wake of her widely shared lament.

The Big Brother Naija "Pepper Dem" winner said that when she needed her friends' support during the All Stars season, they abandoned her.

According to the 30-year-old, she went back to the reality show because all she wanted was to become more successful.

Mercy said that she had no support from her friends and that only her supporters stood by her during an interview with media personality Hero Daniels on Hero's Therapy.

Iyanya responded to her statement by saying that having higher professional ambitions is not wrong.

He said: “Hey Mercy. Wanting more is not a crime, keep pushing, people don’t like themselves and they will never want to see another person doing well. Stay strong.”

On his part, her colleague and love-interest, Pere encouraged her and gave her the assurance that she will achieve greater heights.

Pere said: “Watching Mercy’s interview with Hero Daniels gave me chills. Seeing her break down like that… No my dear, there’s no crime in wanting more superstar! You rock, the sky is just the beginning for you.”
