Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has scolded those forcing Omowunmi, the baby mama of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad to get a DNA test done on her son to establish his paternity.

Following the derogatory assertion made by self-proclaimed investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo that Mohbad's son is related to Lagos socialite Sam Larry, some Nigerians have persisted in requesting that the singer's baby mama perform a DNA test on their five-month-old boy.

Larry Omodia, a Nigerian businessman, reportedly promised to provide Mohbad's widow N10 million to cover all expenses for the DNA test, if she accepted.

Iyabo Ojo responded on her Instagram page, claiming that the demands for a DNA test were a diversion from the effort to bring justice for the late Mohbad.

She emphasized that the late singer never questioned the child's paternity while pointing out that the general public cannot ask for a DNA test.

The mother of two stated that Omawunmi should not be subjected to harassment and added that a DNA test would be carried out if the security personnel looking into the death deemed it essential.

She said: “All these distractions of DNA test, you people should please allow Mohbad’s family to mourn. If Mohbad’s parents want a DNA test, they can request it. You and I don’t have the right to tell them to do a DNA test.

“Mohbad never told anyone that his son wasn’t his son. But if the officers investigating his death feel a need to conduct a DNA test, they will. We need to be very sensitive, please. Why are you guys bullying the poor lady [Mohbad’s wife]? Leave her alone.”
