Legendary Nigerian actor Pete Edochie has expressed his desire to visit the grave of Ghana's late former President, Jerry John Rawlings, to pay his respect during his current visit to the country.

In an interview shared on Facebook and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 29, 2026, the veteran actor reflected on his relationship with Rawlings and recalled how he learned of the former president's passing.

According to Pete Edochie, Rawlings had agreed to visit him in Nigeria before news of his death broke.

Recounting the moment, the actor said he initially thought there had been a misunderstanding because he had heard that Rawlings' mother had died.

"When I heard that the mother had died, I phoned Ghana, and the person I got was telling me that Rawlings had died. I said, you are mad. His mother is the person who died, not him. He said, Rawlings is dead.

"Then I phoned another person, and they said Rawlings is dead. That's the way God wants it. I would like to go to his grave. I want to pay some respect to him when I go to his grave," he said.

Beyond his wish to visit Rawlings' grave, Pete Edochie also revealed plans to visit veteran Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah, popularly known as Slo, who has been battling health challenges.

The actor further expressed desire to visit actress Moeshag Boduong, who he said played the role of his wife in a Ghanaian film production.

"There is another actor of mine, a friend of mine who is called Emmanuel Armah. He has been sick for a long time.

"I want to also go and see him, and also Moesha Buduong; she played my wife in a production in Ghana here," he added.
