Popular Nigerian singer and songriter Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known as Iyanya has disclosed the astounding sum he paid to create and promote his most recent single.

The "Kukere" crooner revealed this on Twitter while discussing the expensive expense of song promotion in the country.

Iyanya disclosed that his hit single "Like" which featured music icons Davido and Kizz Daniel, cost him over N52 million to produce, shoot, and promote.

He also revealed that, since 2021, N27 million is the least amount he has paid to promote a single.

Iyanya went on to say that any musician who is fortunate enough to have their song go viral without the use of commercial advertising should be grateful because it is difficult to promote a song.

He wrote: “Promoting music has become very expensive, if you are lucky to get a song go viral make you Thank God. The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m.

"When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52 million, song, Video and promotion. This should not discourage any up-and-coming artiste, you can do it, all you need it’s consistency.”

Many people agreed with him stating that it is now difficult to promote songs compared to previously when people did literally nothing but their songs became hits.
