Nigerian actress, Blessing Onwukwe, has revealed how much she earned from her role in the YouTube movie Monica 2, sparking fresh conversations about earnings in Nollywood’s digital film space.

According to her, the project remains her highest-paying role so far, despite the short production timeline.

“I was paid over ₦1 million for ‘Monica 2.’ It’s the highest I’ve received for a movie,” she said.

She also disclosed the speed of production for both installments of the film.

“We shot ‘Monica 1’ in five days and ‘Monica 2’ within seven days,” she added.

The revelation has since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether the payment reflects fair value in relation to the growing success of YouTube-based Nollywood productions.
