Genevieve Nnaija breaks social media hiatus with movie premiere photos; many react

Seasoned Nollywood actress turned filmmaker Genevieve Nnaji has returned to social media after a long absence to promote her new movie "I Do Not Come To You By Chance."

The film, which was directed by the director of the Royal Hibiscus Hotel and Road To Yesterday, Ishaya Bako is an adaptation of Adaobi Nwaubani‘s award-winning novel which was released in 2009 and also had the same title.

Over the weekend, Genevieve's most recent film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

On Sunday, September 10, the famous actress released several images from the premiere along with a comment that included the name of the film.

She wrote: “I Do Not Come To You By Chance. #tiff23."

After it was revealed that Genevieve was suffering from a "mental illness," she kept a low profile on social media for a while, which frightened her followers all over the world.

To allay fears and suspicions, the actress chose to ignore the news and posted images on her Instagram stories.

The 44-year-old is making her first appearance in public this year.
