The ongoing clash between Nigerian media critic Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, and crypto lord Linus Williams, aka Blord, has taken a serious twist.
In a new video shared by the outspoken critic, he revealed that he has now uncovered the level of exploitation by gadget vendors in Nigeria and vowed to put an end to it once he returns to the country.
According to him, many vendors have been deceiving Nigerians by buying gadgets at cheap prices from China and reselling them for outrageous amounts in Nigeria. He described their operations as a well-organized scheme to extort innocent buyers.
“Gadget vendors in Nigeria should just pray I die before I return,” VDM declared.
“My eyes are open now. I know how they exploit Nigerians, they buy things cheap in China and sell them here at insane prices.”
He went on to expose the dirty secrets of these vendors, explaining that many of them build fake narratives around certain products, branding them as inferior or fake, only to secretly import and rebrand the same items as high-end products under different names.
Citing the case of “UK used phones,” VDM called it one of the biggest scams in Nigeria’s gadget market. He questioned the logic behind the claim that millions of Nigerians are buying phones once used in the UK.
Unfazed, VDM revealed that he is already working on launching his own gadget warehouse and factory in the Eastern part of Nigeria, which will serve as the central hub for distributing his products nationwide.
He noted that his upcoming business will focus on producing and supplying high-quality yet affordable batteries, power banks, phones, lights, and other essential gadgets.
