The family of the late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has received a major financial lifeline as an Osun-born philanthropist stepped forward to support his bereaved children.
Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Adekunle Luqman announced a full educational scholarship covering the children from their current levels through to university during a condolence visit to the late singer’s father.
In addition to the educational backing, Dr. Luqman has reportedly initiated arrangements to provide new accommodation for the grieving father.
The timely intervention comes amid a turbulent period for the family, who are currently navigating both the shock of the artiste's sudden passing and an ongoing dispute regarding his final resting place.
Toluwanisings passed away on October 14, 2026, after reportedly slumping at his home in Ibadan. Following his death, a public disagreement emerged between the singer's widow, Akanbi Elizabeth, and his paternal family.
While the widow reportedly preferred a church or cemetery burial ground, the singer's father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, and paternal uncle, Lawal Ademola, expressed a desire to lay him to rest at his residence or in Ikirun, Osun State.
Amid these tensions, the family has also called on government authorities, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
To help ease the financial burden on the household, a support fund titled A Call for Love & Support was earlier launched to assist the widow and children.
Dr. Luqman's comprehensive educational pledge is expected to provide long-term stability for the children as they grow up without their father.
