Fireboy DML speaks on competition between himself, Asake

Afrobeats musician Fireboy DML has refuted rumours that he and fellow labelmate Asake are in rivalry.

The "Peru" crooner claims that YBNL Nation, their record label has no competition.

He revealed in a recent interview with Max FM, Lagos that Asake, their label boss, Olamide, and himself have a cordial working relationship.

He said, “There’s genuine brotherhood among us. There was a day when Olamide and Asake helped loosen my hair. That moment was a very solemn moment for me. There is no competition in YBNL.”

Fireboy added that since their main objective is to make money, YBNL Nation and its singers avoid becoming embroiled in disputes inside the industry.

The Asake and Fireboy DML have made tremendously well for themselves ever since they were signed to the YBNL label.

They keep releasing chart-breaking songs that put Nigeria on the map.
