Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has again set social media ablaze with a bold statement about his place in music history.

During his first-ever Twitch appearance with streamer PlaqueBoyMax, the Afrobeats superstar confidently declared that the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti is the only artiste greater than him.

In the viral clip, Burna Boy was seen vibing to one of Fela’s timeless classics, singing along passionately before saying with a grin, “Fela is the king. He’s the only one greater than me.” He also went on to crown himself “001 of the Afrobeats industry.”

His comment immediately stirred intense reactions online, splitting fans into two camps. While many praised Burna Boy for humbly acknowledging Fela’s unparalleled influence and legacy, others accused him of arrogance—reviving the familiar debate surrounding the self-acclaimed “African Giant.”
