Fuji music icon Saheed Osupa has strongly condemned a Nigerian cleric’s prophecy predicting his death, describing it as malicious and baseless.

The controversial Muslim cleric, Alpha Olopa Meta, had earlier claimed that Osupa would die on January 10, 2026. He also alleged that he had pleaded with God on the singer’s behalf and advised him to buy a large ram for special prayers.

Addressing the claim during a live performance on Sunday, January 11, 2026, Osupa dismissed the prophecy and issued a stern warning to those wishing him harm.

“Fake prophets and Alphas, please stop wishing me dead,” he told the crowd. “Anyone who wishes me dead will die in my place.”

He further cautioned enemies both known and unknown, including those close to him and those around his career, saying they should refrain from harboring ill intentions toward him.

“Whether you are a close enemy, a secret enemy, or someone around my neighborhood, don’t wish me dead, or you will die before me,” Osupa declared.

His reaction has since sparked conversations online, with fans applauding him for confronting the controversial prophecy head-on.
