Egyptian artists are leading the continent’s digital music scene with a new ranking of the most followed African musicians on YouTube showing Egypt claiming seven of the top 21 spots.
Mohamed Ramadan tops the list with 15.9 million subscribers, closely followed by Morocco’s Saad Lamjarred with 15.5 million.
Other Egyptian stars such as Tamer Hosny, Hassan Shakosh, and Amr Diab also make strong appearances, underscoring the country’s growing dominance on the video streaming platform
Tanzania and Nigeria each secure three positions on the list, represented by global hitmakers like Diamond Platnumz, Burna Boy, and Rema.
The list also features artists from Algeria, Tunisia, South Africa, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, reflecting the widespread popularity of African music across borders.
