'Every extended family in Igbo land has beef and envy' – Yul Edochie

Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has openly discussed the jealousy and rivalry among his fellow Igbo people.

Taking to his Instagram page, the filmmaker stated that many families and relatives are enmity-filled with one another due to what their parents have told them about the other.

Yul Edochie mentioned that some folks couldn't even remember what caused the argument.

He went on to remark that even though almost every extended family in the Igbo community is divided and envious of one another, they all still attend church on Sundays, which baffles him.

He wrote: “Many families, cousins are bearing malice against each other, cos of something their parents told them that the other parents did to them donkey years back. Some can’t even remember the reason for the quarrel.
There’s beef and envy in almost every extended family in Igbo land.
Yet, every Sunday they’re in Church. Makes no sense”.

In 2023, Yul made similar remarks by expressing disgust at the high level of jealousy among Igbos.

He pushed them to improve, pointing out that some prosperous Igbos are the biggest detractors of their relatives.

Preaching love, Yul Edochie posed a significant query to the populace. He questioned why it was so hard for people to think clearly and how many deaths there had to be before people realized that life was not that long.

In addition, he urged his social media fans and followers to spread love far and wide in a call to action.

The father of four said that love is the only way to erase the immense anger and envy that exist in the world.
