Renowned comedian and Nigerian activist Adebowale Adedayo better known as Mr. Macaroni has announced a nonviolent stroll to mark the third anniversary of the #EndSARS demonstration.

The 30-year-old revealed this on Thursday, October 19, in an Instagram post, stating that the protest victims from October 20 at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos will be remembered during the peaceful walk.

Remember that in October 2020, there was a public uproar demanding an end to extrajudicial executions, police brutality, extortion, and power abuse, particularly by former SARS personnel.

The Nigerian federal government disbanded SARS as a result of the nonviolent protest that began.

On October 20, however, the demonstration was put down when Nigerian Army officers opened fire on the demonstrators, killing and wounding numerous people.

Mr. Macaroni wrote on the anniversary, saying, “3 Years now!!! We will Never Forget!!!#EndSars!!!!We will be walking peacefully to honor all those who lost their lives on 20/10/2020!!! We also walk for all those who have lost their lives as a result of police brutality in Nigeria!!! We walk in peace!!! We will never forget!”
