Elesin Oba to hit cinemas on Friday

Elesin Oba, a film based on Prof Wole Soyinka’s death and the Kings horseman, directed by Biyi Bandele and produced Mo Abudu, is on at the ebonyilife, Lagos.

A preview by select art journalists shows a film that surpasses on films based on African cultures and customs.

The films opens in cinemas on Friday and it sure shows the richness of Yoruba heritages.

Nigerian films like Anikulapo, Brotherhood, Soole and others have been gathering positive reviews locally and internationally and have enjoyed airtime on Netflix.

Also, Anikulapo which was initially rejected for an Academy Award was later reviewed and the producers of the film asked to serialise the film.
