EFCC arrests Bobrisky over naira abuse

Popular socialite Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky has been taken into custody by the Agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The crossdresser was arrested on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Pinnock Estate in Lagos for manipulating money and misusing the Naira notes.

The commission's spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the news and pledged to release an official statement on the event.

He said: “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command.

“We arrested him for alleged abuse of Naira notes, spraying of Naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.

“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the Naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, he will be charged to court soon.”

The arrest of Bobrisky comes shortly after social media influencer, VeryDarkMan threatened to crossdress if Bobrisky was not taken into custody by the authorities within the next five days.

VeryDarkMan had previously demanded that Bobrisky be arrested for cross-dressing, alleging that the socialite was being protected by influential politicians who happened to be his gay lovers.
