The long-running conflict between well-known gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former manager Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu has taken a drastic turn following his reaction to the singer's recent passionate outbursts.
Recall that recently, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu's record label, Eezee Concepts, was accused by the singer of hiring bloggers to damage her reputation.
Mercy Chinwo also recounted how Eezee Tee had tried to get her to sign what she called a bogus contract in 2019, but she had refused to sign it.
Eezee Tee responded by defending himself on Instagram and warning people not to fall for Mercy's "gimmicks," as he put it. He also disclosed that Mercy had petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against him in 2019, which he feels was an attempt to damage his reputation.
Eezee Tee clarified that he had opted to keep quiet initially in order to settle the matter amicably. However, he claimed that after his repeated attempts at reconciliation were viewed as a show of weakness, he felt obliged to speak out about the matter.
He said, “What do you expect of someone who can perfectly imitate the voice of a child and sounds so real like she’s a child? She’s a fantastic actress,” Eezee Tee stated in the video.
He disclosed that in order to resolve the conflict, he sought mediation from well-known Christian authorities, such as Bishop Mike Okonkwo and Bishop Humphrey. His efforts, though, were apparently misunderstood.
Explaining why he called out Mercy chinwo publicly, he said, “If I didn’t care about the body of Christ, I wouldn’t have gone to meet these people. But what did I hear? ‘He’s running everywhere because he’s scared.’ Every time I put forward an approach to a peaceful resolution, it was communicated as weakness.
“Until I heard a statement that got me sad when one of our pastors said to me, ‘Stop bothering about the body of Christ, we deal with you and the body of Christ will be okay.’ That was when I knew it was a scripted and orchestrated conspiracy and witch-hunting.
Even in the face of injustice, I chose silence.
When you involved the EFCC to detain me, I remained silent.
When I sought resolution through the Multidoor Court, I remained silent.
Even when I filed a lawsuit to protect my human rights and prevent further harassment, I still chose silence.
But then, you maliciously manipulated the system, obtained a bench warrant against me, and published it globally.
This is not just about me—it’s about transparency, fairness, and standing up against unjust actions.
Sometimes, silence is mistaken for weakness, but let me assure you, truth always prevails. Facts are stubborn.”
