Don Pee Arts and Gallery is set to debut its blockbuster movie titled Zarz End on the Don Pee TV YouTube channel, in solidarity with Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration. The online movie platform will release its first production, Zarz End, on June 12—a public holiday observed annually in honor of Late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.
The movie Zarz End is, in itself, a significant historical statement and a creative adaptation of a real-life event that shook Africa in October 2020, in the continent’s most populous nation, Nigeria. The film has been classified for viewers aged 15 and above by the National Film Board of Ghana.
It is an artistic portrayal of the End SARS protest in Nigeria—a tumultuous movement that erupted across Nigerian cities five years ago in response to the abusive activities of rogue police officers. It also highlights the Nigerian government’s timely intervention to restore order. Zarz End invites viewers to walk down memory lane, relive both the pain and the hope of a turning point, and witness how citizens and their government found a new understanding amid a strained relationship.
With a star-studded cast featuring Nollywood icons such as Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nkem Owoh (popularly known as Osuofia), Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, and Ejike Asiegbu, alongside new media sensations like Etinosa Idemudia, The Billionaire Prince, and Emeka Amakeze, the movie is expected to captivate the public and energize this year’s summer holiday season.
Rated 15+, Zarz End delivers a positive and thought-provoking message suitable for family viewing. Stay tuned for more updates on this powerful and timely film, which promises to make a meaningful impact on Africa’s emerging movie landscape.
