Afrobeats superstar Davido has reacted after northern Nigerian singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara criticised him over a jacket he wore featuring pins advocating for kidnapped children.
The singer shared a video of Rarara angrily addressing the issue, humorously captioning it “Debidooo,” a playful reference to the way Rarara pronounced his name during the rant.
The viral clip showed Rarara passionately speaking while questioning Davido's decision to wear a leather jacket decorated with multiple green “Free The Kids” badges aimed at raising awareness about child abductions.
However, the criticism did not sit well with many social media users, who rallied behind Davido and defended his decision to draw attention to the plight of kidnapped children.
Several northern Nigerians also distanced themselves from Rarara's comments, insisting that his views do not represent the opinions of the region as a whole.
Others accused the singer of focusing on attacking Davido instead of speaking out against the insecurity, kidnappings, and humanitarian challenges affecting many communities across the country.
The exchange has since sparked widespread debate online, with many praising Davido for using his platform to advocate for vulnerable children and raise awareness about a growing national concern.
