Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has once again sparked conversations online after reacting humorously to a suggestion that he skip the next Grammy Awards.

The singer has been in the spotlight recently after losing the 2026 Best African Music Performance award to South African artist Tyla at the 68th Grammy ceremony.

This is not the first time Tyla has beaten Davido at the awards. She previously won the same category in 2024 with her hit track “Water,” edging out Davido’s “Unavailable” from his Timeless album.

The latest social media buzz started when Instagram user justvehrixx shared a viral post featuring a Nollywood meme of actor Kenneth Okonkwo. The meme, which shows Okonkwo answering a phone call angrily with the words:

“Yes, who is this? What do you want from me? You heartless idiot, you can go to hell for all I care,”

This was jokingly used to depict how Davido might respond if he were invited to the next Grammy Awards.

Fans quickly shared the meme across platforms and tagged Davido, who reacted with laughter, signaling that he was taking the joke in stride.
