Renowned artist Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel popularly known as Dammy Krane has accused Davi Adeleke, commonly refered to as Davido, of being partly responsible for the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike who died on October 3, 2017.

He claimed that the singer encouraged Tagbo to drink 40 shots of Tequila and later abandoned him in his car to die.

Dammy Krane accused Davido of hiding his "evil deeds" with money, despite his recent assertion that he has never been arrested.

Davido on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, dismissed rumours that he was arrested in East Africa.

On April, 2024, there were speculations that the singer was arrested in East Africa while on tour.

As Davido refutes the allegation, Dammy Krane in a video shared on his Instagram page said:

“Davido is using money to cover up all his evil deeds.

“He told Tagbo to drink 40 shots of Tequila on his 40th birthday and abandoned him in the car till he died.

“You weren’t even remorseful. You put the blame on an innocent person and he was arrested. All the hidden truths will be revealed this year.”

The Afrobeats sensation is yet to address the accusations levelled against him.

Recall that alcohol was shown to have had a significant role in Tagbo's death during the autopsy.

The findings indicated that he was under the influence of narcotics and alcohol, which could have led to the early stages of hypothermia and death.

Also, it was revealed that he had taken 40 shots of Tequila at Shasha Bar in Lekki and died of suffocation.

Following Tagbo's death and the release of his autopsy result, Davido was invited for questioning since he was a close pal of the late Tagbo.

At the time, the Acting Commissioner of Police claimed that Davido had been given a second invitation to be questioned because the findings of the police's investigations contradicted Davido's account of his friend's death.

The Commissioner stated that the meeting verified the deceased's drinking habits at a bar with pals, including Davido.

However, the bartender who mixed their cocktails "confirmed that the deceased exhibited clear signs of drunkenness and had as much as 40 tucks of tequila," according to the report.

Davido and Dammy Krane have been known to be at loggerheads. Recall that on Monday October 23, 2023, Dammy Krane called out Davido saying the singer owes him money and has refused to settle his debt.

According to him, Davido has failed to pay him for the successful collaboration of his song “Pere”.

In response, Davido said he was yet to receive compensation for the three verses he contributed to the Dammy Krane song nine years ago.
