Former Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidimma Adetshina, popularly known as Chichi Vanessa, has responded strongly to online backlash after announcing her interest in joining the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show.

Chidimma recently expressed excitement about the end of her reign as a beauty queen and hinted at her next big move, which is auditioning for the 2026 edition of Big Brother Naija.

In a video shared online, she reflected on her eight-month stay in Nigeria, describing it as an amazing experience filled with opportunities.

She also revealed that her management had stopped her from participating in the just-concluded BBNaija Season 10 because she was still a reigning queen at the time.

“I enjoyed my stay in Nigeria. Once my documents are sorted, I’ll be back. I feel there are so many opportunities in Nigeria. I even wanted to do Big Brother next year,” she said.

However, her announcement didn’t sit well with everyone.

Reacting to a Legit.ng post, a social media user identified as Ngwakwanalethole accused Chidimma of benefiting from Nigeria while refusing to live in the country.

He wrote:
“It’s like she enjoys the benefits in Nigeria, but refuses to settle there.”

The beauty queen quickly fired back, insisting no one had the right to speak on issues they knew nothing about.

Responding directly to the critic, she wrote:

“How can I settle when I have serious issues that need to be solved? Just because you’re not in my shoes, please don’t speak for me respectfully.”
