Popular Nigerian content creator and skit maker, Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Amuzie, widely known as Brain Jotter, has recently been the talk of social media following his viral dance moves.
The electrifying moves have captivated audiences, sparking a new social media challenge with many celebrities, skit makers and social media users jumping into it to create their versions.
The song used in the viral dance challenge is Gentleman Mike Ejeagha's "Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche aka gwo gwo gwo ngwo." The video has garnered over 29 million view on Instagram since being posted on July 5, 2024 and 19 million views on TikTok.
Brain Jotter had earlier announced his intention to give 2 million naira to Mike Ejeagha as a token of appreciation for his legendary contributions to the Nigerian music industry, which he later did.
However, the viral success has not come without controversy. Recently, Instagram influencer Radiogad called out Brain Jotter over a 2 million naira royalty payment to Mike Ejeagha, claiming it is insufficient.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Radiogad argued that 2 million naira is what a cleaner in the US earns in two days, suggesting it is disrespectful to use Mike Ejeagha's song to trend and make money without proper permission.
Radiogad further claimed that Brain Jotter has made approximately 400 million naira from the viral video and insisted that Mike Ejeagha deserves 100 million naira, not just 2 million.
