Big Brother Naija housemate Sooj gave his ancestral jewelry to Nelly, a housemate and love interest, as a sign of his unwavering love for her.
In a widely shared video, Sooj is shown expressing his feelings to Nelly and giving her the necklace.
Sooj told her that he would always be there for her and asked if she would be there for him when things become hard and the outside world turns against him.
He revealed that his great-grandmother, his grandmother, and eventually his mother were the original owners of the necklace. Sooj claimed he didn't regret bringing it to the house by accident now that she was the owner.
Nelly remarked that she had no idea Sooj was such a nice and compassionate person. Many viewers felt that the housemates' affection was phoney or unbalanced.
Sooj said, “I will stand by you. Do you agree to stand by me in those situations when the going gets rough and the world is against me? Do you promise that you will stand by me no matter the cause?”
Nelly responded, “Yes” and received the necklace, sealing and solidifying the bond between the both of them, according to Sooj.
