Actor Amaechi Mounagor in severe condition, requires kidney transplant

Veteran Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor is still unwell and in dire need of support and prayers.

The seasoned actor reportedly needs a kidney transplant, which will take place in India.

In a recent video that has surfaced, the actor is shown lying on a bed and pleading with loved ones for support and prayers.

Recall that in November 2023, Tony, the actor's cousin, posted a health update on Facebook revealing that Monagor was battling diabetes, stroke, and kidney problems at the time.

In recent years, the Nollywood industry has been stricken with life-threatening health conditions with some actors giving up the ghost after several battles with their health.

Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu suffered from a stroke and financial problems prior to his passing in January 2021. Actress Ify Onwuemene fought cancer till her passing in May 2020. Saint Obi died after a battle with an undisclosed illness in 2023 and Obi Madubogwu also battled with diabetes before his death in August 2017.

A few weeks ago, comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, suddenly passed after a prolonged battle with diabetes, sending the film industry into a state of mourning.

Before his demise, it was determined that amputating one of the actor's limbs would be the only option to extend his life and ensure his continued health, however, it didn't take a long time after he gave up the ghost following the amputation.

Funds were raised to cover the actor's medical expenditures throughout his diabetes struggle, as his family disclosed that they had depleted the majority of the actor's life savings on his health care.
