3 myths about cheating that you need to stop believing now

Let's separate truth from fiction once and for all!

It is not surprising that many opinions and beliefs have been created around cheating simply because it is now so widespread and commonplace.

As more people are experiencing, hearing about and dealing with cheating in their relationships and marriages, opinions and beliefs about the concept continue to multiply. What we now have is both the right representation of it and a whole lot of wrong ones.

To avoid getting caught in lies and falsehoods concerning cheating and how it manifests in relationships, check out these three myths about cheating that you should not believe.

If you love him, you’ll stay faithful

Perhaps one of the most tragic misconceptions about cheating is that people stray because they have fallen out of love with their partners.

It’s a big fat lie you should never believe. You can love someone and still cheat on them.

The definition of cheating is universal

That is another myth. What cheating means is no longer as narrow in scope as it was back in the day. And what it means to some people, is not what it means to other people. It is better to have a conversation with your partner to know what would count as cheating to them apart from the obvious rule that you should not have sex with another person.

Good sex prevents cheating

This is one more thing you should never believe. If you’re in a relationship, spicing up the physical intimacy won’t prevent cheating.
