President Bola Tinubu is set to present the 2027 federal budget to the National Assembly before the end of the year.
The disclosure was made by the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka, on Wednesday.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, the minister confirmed the administration's timeline.
"We are working on the budget for 2027, and the intention is to present it before the end of the year," Dr. Anite-Uzoka stated.
The announcement follows a Personnel Costs Budget Call Circular issued on September 4, 2026, by the Budget Office of the Federation and signed by Director-General Tanimu Yakubu.
Under the directive, all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) are mandated to submit their 2027 personnel cost proposals alongside their official establishment Acts.
This requirement was introduced following a scam involving fictitious agencies uncovered by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Additionally, any agencies not captured on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) or the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) have been strictly barred from receiving personnel cost provisions in the upcoming 2027 budget.
