Debo Atiba drags First Bank over Intellectual Property Theft

First Bank First Bank

The Chief Executive Officer of Xtreme Cr8tivity Xpressions, Debo Atiba has accused the First Bank of Nigeria of Intellectual property theft.

Taking to Twitter, Atiba said his firm pitched First Bank in 2018 with a desire to design a souvenir that will help the bank celebrate its 125 years anniversary.

According to the CEO of Xtreme Cr8tivity, the gift item was a commemorative Notebook with a special anniversary logo badge.

Doing the design was indeed hard as they tried to modify it to the lender's standards. However, the bank accepted their proposals and the final product of the design.

Trouble brewed when the transaction was to be paid for. Atiba said First Bank told them to do the project at a unit of cost of N160/$1 (2015 price) opposed to the 2019 price of over N300/$1.

This led to a huge disagreement and one Mrs Folake Ani-mumuney of the bank said there was nothing special about their design and that they could be replaced.

True to First Bank's words, they shopped the design to their vendors leaving Xtreme Cr8tivity in the dark. First Bank utilised Debo's brainchild and left them unpaid with the resources they used in actualising the project wasted.

Now, Debo is seeking justice with guns blaring.
