You have made a significant impact on our nation - Edun hails outgoing World Bank Country Director

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has applauded Dr. Shubham Chaudhari, the outgoing World Bank Country Director for his immense contribution to Nigeria's economic development.

He made those known via a statement signed by the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga.

The Minister also highlighted the impact Dr Chaudhari's had on Nigeria's growth as he noted the impact of the World Bank on the economy of the nation.

Shubham Chaudhuri has served as the Country Director for Nigeria since 2019 after he left the same position for Afghanistan.

Edun praised Chaudhari’s leadership, stating, “Your leadership and expertise have made a significant impact on our country’s progress.”

He emphasised the importance of the World Bank’s support in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The minister outlined the administration’s fiscal reforms aimed at attracting foreign investments, creating jobs, reducing poverty, and improving living standards.

“We invite you to explore the possibilities and partner with us for mutual growth,” Mr Edun invited the international community.
