GTBank declare closed period ahead of Q1 results

Guaranty Trust Bank Plc has declared a closed period ahead of its first-quarter results.

In a notice filed by the bank to the Nigerian Bourse, the closed period begins Tuesday, April 7th, 2020.

The closed period is in respect of the unaudited financial statements for the first quarter of the financial period ended March 31, 2020.

In addition, a board meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2020, to consider and approve the results.

Guaranty Bank Trust Plc declared a profit after tax of N196.85bn for the financial year ended December 31, 2019, as against N184.71bn reported in 2018, representing a growth of 6.6 per cent.

Based on the result, the lender declared a final dividend of N2.50 per share.

Profit before tax stood at N231.7bn, from the N215.59bn posted in 2018, an increase of 7.5 per cent.

Total assets stood at N3.76tn, up by 14.3 per cent when compared with N3.29tn declared in the corresponding period of 2018.

Nonetheless, the closed period notice is subject to the restriction of activities imposed by the authorities in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank warned. Subject to these restrictions, the board meetings might be held via electronic channels.
