The Super Eagles of Nigeria will reportedly face Russia in another international friendly in October.

The game will be held at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday, October 6, after Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Eric Chelle's team will begin their AFCON qualifiers campaign against the Barea of Madagascar on Friday, September 25, before taking on the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau four days later.

The three-time African champions will host Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo in their first game, before travelling away to Guinea-Bissau at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in the second game.

Nigeria faced Russia in an international friendly in June 2025, in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.

Russia scored the opener via a Semi Ajayi own goal before Tolu Arokodare equalized for the Super Eagles in the second half.
