Sunday Oliseh has expressed optimism about how the Super Eagles of Nigeria will perform at the upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations.

The 35th edition of the Nations Cup will kick off on December 21 in Morocco.

The three-time African champions have been pitted in Group C alongside Tanzania, Uganda, and Tunisia.

Eric Chelle's side will kick off their campaign against Tanzania on December 23.

Sharing his thoughts on how far Nigeria can go, Oliseh tipped the Super Eagles to go far in the tournament.

He also urged head coach Eric Chelle to be bold in taking crucial decisions regarding his team.

“I am very optimistic that the Super Eagles can do well at this tournament,” the former midfielder said on the Oliseh Insight Podcast.

“The first thing the manager has to do is that he has to grow a little bit stubborn.

“He has to grow stubborn because it is no secret that people from outside will try to influence who plays, who doesn’t play.

“I think he has to grow stubborn and stand his ground and show personality that he is responsible.”
