Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has deleted traces of his parent club Napoli from his X profile following his departure from the Serie A outfit.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year was arguably the hot topic in the transfer window following the controversies surrounding his departure from the club.

Osimhen had fallen out with Napoli after his anticipated transfer away from the club collapsed on transfer deadline day, leading to his expulsion from the first team and being stripped of his iconic number 9 shirt.

However, the 25-year-old managed to engineer a move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, joining Turkish champions Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

Osimhen, who was unveiled by Galatasaray before joining the Super Eagles camp for the AFCON qualifiers, is set to make his debut after the international break.

The former Lille striker is expected to feature in Galatasaray’s next Super Lig fixture against Rizespor on Sunday, September 15.

Having put to bed the saga surrounding his time at Napoli, Osimhen has gone ahead to erase all traces of the club from his X profile.

His new bio now reads, “Professional football player for Galatasaray and Super Eagles of Nigeria,” accompanied by a new profile picture in his jersey number 45 shirt.
